Well a Prius C to be exact. Toyota finally came out with a small hatchback hybrid. I bought a cute aqua one - well I don't actually have it yet, it's arriving in June - but when I do it will look like this:
Actually, I think the colour might be bit lighter than that in real life... the colour of course being of utmost importance.
I have wanted a hybrid car for ages, but really didn't want or need a full size Prius. I drive a Toyota now, and have always found them good cars - so although other manufacturers have brought out hybrids - I was really waiting for a smaller Prius to come out. And now there is one.
Some of you are now burning to tell me that there are more environmentally friendly vehicles out there - I know I know, I could go diesel, or gas - or plug in electric, or a different hybrid. To be honest, I know there are. But I also know that the difference is minimal, and that this is still close to one of the most fuel efficient cars in Australia.
I took it for a test drive (obviously - its not just about the colour). It drove really smoothly. My current car is an old Yaris - a manual, and - as I am a bit of a hopeless driver of a manual, I do actually stall at least once on every journey. So it was quite a cool sensation to drive this automatic - very very smooth, as there are no 'gears' as such, so you can't feel them changing when you drive.
But the absolutely coolest bit - is - the silence. You switch it on with a button. The only way you can tell it is on is because the light on the dash comes on. And when you start to drive - silent. So so cool. I truly long for a day when all of our traffic is this quiet.
Can you imagine how different our cities would be?

It's just a shame they are so ugly! (Although this new model looks much slicker than the larger one that all the celebs seem to drive...)
The Prius C is much cuter :) I do know what you mean about the full size Prius, I had a look at it too - is a weird looking car.
